Planned Giving
Larger gifts are central to the future of Nianjema. Naming opportunities for large gifts and endowments are available and can be tailored to the experience and interest of givers.
Bequests
Bequests made through a will or living trust can be directed to Nianjema Preschool, Primary, Secondary and High School through the Tanzania Education Fund. Bequests may be stated as a percentage of your estate, as the residual of your estate, or for a specific dollar amount.
Endowments
Endowments are gifts held in perpetuity and provide dependable support for specific needs. TEF invests the initial gift, and spends only a portion of the average annual investment return. The remainder is added to the principal as protection against inflation.
The Nianjema Endowment is a new initiative that creates a lasting source of funds to support the students of Nianjema now and in the future. We invite you to become a Nianjema Ambassador by contributing at least $10 and encouraging others to do so as well, through Facebook. John Carney, a board member of Tanzania Education Fund, initiated the endowment with an attempt on Mt. Everest in May 2012. Weather intervened so John is now planning a future attempt, which will also benefit Nianjema. The Ambassador goal is for 100,000 Facebook donors to give $10 each to reach a $1,000,000 endowment.
